CHUNCHO Restaurante - Bar

Chuncho means ‘native or wild’. The food is solely traditional to the town of Ollantaytambo, and the ingredients and producers are local. The visual and conceptual decoration of the place also echoes this theme, with old organic corn leftovers, rusted papers, and wood. For the restaurant, I made some realistic hand-drawn black-and-white illustrations to accompany this concept of something ancient yet native, and later to apply them to various designs or products for sale. The menu has a rebellious, deliberately messy layout, as does the infographic-style collage design displayed in an exterior showcase.
The posters for Friday events convey a ‘chicha’ vibe: an artistic musical and visual expression resulting from the Andean migration to Lima.
